How much does it cost to build a Telegram bot in 2026

"Bot" is one word, but the products hiding behind it are wildly different: from a three-button menu you can put together in an evening to a service with payments and personal accounts. Hence the spread in price, from a hundred dollars to five figures. We build bots constantly — here is what costs what, and why.

Four types of bot and their prices

Button bot: $0–170

A menu, a price list, contacts, links. Assembled in something like BotFather plus a couple of services, often by yourself. Useful as a business card, automates very little.

Lead capture bot: $230–900

Asks questions along a script, collects the request and sends it to a manager or a spreadsheet. Already saves hours of messaging, but works strictly to the script.

AI bot with a knowledge base: from $900

Answers questions in its own words from your policies and price lists, takes notes, passes the hard cases to a human, integrates with CRM and 1C. This already replaces a duty administrator.

Bot as a service: from $1,700

Payments inside, personal accounts, subscriptions, affiliate programmes. In complexity this is a web service whose interface happens to be Telegram instead of a website.

What makes up the price

After launch, the bot lives on a server — a few dollars a month — and needs looking after: Telegram updates its API, scenarios go stale, the knowledge base grows. Budget for support, or agree a retainer straight away.

When you do not need a bot

Three cases where we talk clients out of a bot:

How to save without losing quality

The approach that works is to start with a minimal version: one main scenario, one integration, launched in a couple of weeks. Then look at the real conversations: what people are missing, where the bot gets lost — and refine on facts rather than assumptions. That way the first payment is smaller and every later improvement rests on data.

Our ballpark: lead capture bots and AI bots from $900, first working version in 2–4 weeks, price fixed in the spec before we start. If you are not sure which type of bot your task needs, describe it in two sentences and we will tell you, free.
